Gluten-Free Pizza Crust and Books
The Date: Tuesday, August 30
The Delivery: Thrive Foods by Brendan Brazier, Extinction by John McCabe, and gluten-free artisan pizza crusts from Toovaloo
Staff Pick: The pizza crusts!
The DL: Ohmygoshwelovepizza. (Sorry about the lack of spaces. We were too excited to talk about pizza to use the spacebar.) We're already imagining what to top this gluten-free crust with: pesto? Marinara? Veggies? Vegan pepperoni? Our minds are reeling. For more pizza (yes please!), check out our brand-new September+October issue, featuring a taste test with five frozen vegan pizzas. Which one was our favorite? You'll have to buy a copy to find out!

Brazier's Vegan Cookbook
The Date: Tuesday, May 3
The Delivery: Whole Foods to Thrive by Brendan Brazier
Staff Pick: Whole Foods to Thrive
The DL: We are big Brendan Brazier fans, and cannot wait to try out some of the recipes in his new cookbook. With whole-foods bites including Chocolate Goodness Smoothies, Beet Ravioli with Basil Macadamia Ricotta, and Walnut Cranberry Energy Bars, we hope eating just like this Ironman will turn us into superhuman athletes. Or we'll just ignore the serving sizes and scarf down entire pans of Brazier's Summery Simple Peach Tart. Either way, really. More interested in devouring a plate of nachos topped with Daiya pepperjack? Be sure to enter the VegNews Cinco de Mayo Giveaway for a chance to win a vegan nacho kit (BYOS: bring your own sombrero).

Staff Pick: Thrive: The Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life by Brendan Brazier
The DL: Vegan Brendan Brazier looking fit on the cover of the new edition of Thrive was just the motivation we needed to tackle our cycling commute home to work off our burrito lunches. This edition features a forward by Hugh Jackman, who states that by the time we're reading his words, he might well be vegan. Hugh, call us if you need us!

Book It!
Date: Wednesday, January 7The Delivery: Two vegan-friendly books
Staff Pick: Veganism and athleticism go hand-in-hand with Brendan Brazier's new book, Thrive
Staff Pick: Veganism and athleticism go hand-in-hand with Brendan Brazier's new book, Thrive
The DL: It may have been a small delivery today, but what it lacked in quantity, it made up for in quality. It's always exciting when veganism is accurately represented as a diet not lacking in the nutrients needed for athletic performance. The VN team definitely is an active bunch, and Brazier's book looks to be an informative guide.
