The DL: Wow, perfect timing for Halloween—these vitamins will definitely help counteract the amount of sweet junk food that has been everywhere lately. Friday was the VegNews Book Bash, which had a Cinnaholic cinnamon roll bar. Yesterday, the VegNews staff had a potluck brunch, filled with super-sweet breakfast foods like Cappuccino Muffins and Banana Split Waffles from Hearty Vegan Meals for Monster Appetites by Joni Marie Newman. And today we’re sampling puffy marshmallows in cute ghost and bat shapes. We’ve even put together an all-inclusive Halloween candy guide in honor of this sweet holiday. Some may say "sugar overload," but we say there’s no such thing.

The DL: See that picture up there of all that bread? Now, imagine that times three, and you’ll come close to understanding how much bread we have on our hands right now (and by “on our hands,” I really mean “already-in-our-mouths”). Thanks to Dave’s Killer Bread, we now have about a year’s supply of artisan baked goods, and we’re not complaining. If you’re as much of a fiend for baked goods as we are, join us for the VegNews Book Bash with Spork Foods, coming up October 21. Can you say Cinnaholic cinnamon bun bar? Until then, we'll just stuff ourselves silly with the Sin-O-Dawg rolls. Now back to that bread…

The DL: After getting a dozen gems with assorted frostings from Cinnaholic yesterday, we thought we were tapped out on cinnamon rolls. When this batch was delivered to our doorstep today, however, somehow we managed to make room for them. It's a tough life here at VNHQ! This will be our last post until Tuesday—tomorrow we are heading down to Expo West for the weekend to check out the best new products the vegan world has to offer. But never fear! You can hang out with us and the vegan bakers from last night's episode of Cupcake Wars tonight at 6pm during the VegNews Twitter Chat. See you then!

The DL: Pow! That's what the cover of Veganize This!: 200 Animal-Free Recipes for People Who Love to Eat says to us. What can we say? We like a book with moxie. This is just the galley for this cookbook, which is slated to hit shelves in February, and we're excited to see the finished product.
