The DL: "For every bar you buy, we give a meal to a hungry child." Now that is an energy bar that gives back! We're excited to try these snacks, which come in yummy flavors such as Chocolate Banana, Apple Pecan, and Cherry Almond. Perhaps they'll supply the much-needed energy to get us through Natural Products Expo West. Staff Pick: The Toothy Tabs!

The DL: We here at the VNHQ love getting deliveries of chocolate, cookbooks, and chips, but perhaps even more than those three Cs, we love a new vegan product unlike anything we've ever C-een (get it?). Enter: Toothy Tabs. The folks at Lush are aiming to reduce the ecological impact of toothpaste tubes and dispensers with these tabs. Pop in your mouth, brush as normal, and keep some of the one billion toothpaste tubes that end up in landfills annually out. We are so intrigued we might whip some out some of these Toothy Tabs right now. After all, we did just have lunch.

Staff Pick: Vegan Family Meals

The DL: Ann Gentry's new cookbook, filled with vibrant photos of soups, lasagnas, and cookies, is making our mouths water. We wouldn't mind cooking up tofu scrambles with avocado, bacon, and cheese, dark onion soup with cashew cream and herbed croutons, or double-chocolate brownies, but since we don't have an oven or stove here at the VNHQ, we might need some help. Let us know if you want to make it for us. We'll bring the cookbook and This Week's Must Have (Dark chocolate with quinoa crisps: it's the perfect palate cleanser!).

The DL: Only dogs could hear most of the squeals of excitement erupting from VNHQ today. Our beautiful (do you see that cover?!), exciting, filled-to-the-gills VegNews Magazine March+April issue is in our grateful, loving hands, and will soon be in yours too. From world-changing geniuses to a vegan bucket list, this issue has it all and more (including some delectable tacos, peeking out onto the cover). This is quite possibly the best Valentine's Day gift we at VNHQ have ever received. Happy Friday!
