The DL: A big “welcome back” to all the participants of the VegNews’ Food Lover’s Tour of Thailand! We’re celebrating the return of Publisher Joseph Connelly and Associate Publisher Colleen Holland by sampling all of the Thai goodies they stuffed in their suitcases. During our weekly Monday morning meeting, Colleen filled us in on the highlights of the past few weeks abroad, including vegan Thai cooking classes, the adoption of four adorable gibbons, and an enlightening visit to an all-veg village. If you’re interested in seeing the world through a veg lens, check out our other vacations. There are just a few more spots on the next trip, a yoga retreat to Mexico, so get your spot today!

Books and a Board Game

The Date: Monday, September 26
The Delivery: Healthy Eating Healthy World by J. Morris Hicks, EcoMind by Frances Moore LappĂ©, Sister Vegetarian’s 31 Days of Drama-Free Living by Donna M. Beaudoin, and Animal Matters’ Fur & Feathers board game
Staff Pick: Fur & Feathers

The DL: While all these books look informative, all we want to do is play games to ease the Monday madness. That's where Fur & Feathers comes in—Although Banangrams usually satisfies our need for competition, the game will provide a gentler lunchtime contest; it's rated ages six and up, after all. But, these books are perfect reading material for potential VegNews interns looking to participate in next spring's program here in San Francisco. Read up soon, though—applications are due October 1!

Color Me Kombucha

Date: Monday, July 6
The Delivery: Several colorful bottles of Kombucha
Staff Pick: Kombucha Botanica

The DL:
Though it was the only delivery today, some of us love an afternoon fizzy beverage. And with colors as vibrant as the Pomegranate's pink and the Ginger Tulsi's orange, they aren't too bad to look at, either.

Super Spread

Date: Monday, April 27
The Delivery: A couple of Annie Chun's noodle bowls and some buttery-tasting spread
Staff Pick: Now you can enjoy Earth Balance, soy-free!

The DL: Earth Balance has done a lot for vegan baking in the recent past, and it's great to see that the company is diversifying its product. Want to know the VN staff's favorite way to prepare the spread? Whip it together with some maple syrup to make a delicious maple-butter, which we happily slathered on some scones today in celebration of our two Maggie Awards!
