Vegan Children's Book and Couscous

The Delivery: Whole wheat, natural and tricolor pearl couscous from Bob's Red Mill, Vegan is Love: Having Heart and Taking Action by Ruby Roth
Staff Pick: The couscous

The DL:  We were thrilled to receive this shipment of Israeli couscous from Bob’s Red Mill—at least one couscous-filled daydream resulted from the delivery. Because these versatile little pearls of wheat can be whipped up quickly, we think it’s great to have some on hand for those times when you’re feeling lazy and want a fuss-free meal. More Gluten-Free Goods, a Book, and Supplements

The Date: Wednesday, November 24
The Delivery: Supplements from MegaFood and Raw-Nation, a book, and Bob's Red Mill Gluten-Free baking mix.
Staff Pick: Lara Matthew's Lola Lollipop Animals Are Evil

The DL: Lara Matthew's states in her introduction to Lola Lollipop Animals Are Evil that after she went pescatarian and finally vegan, she was driven to compile her thoughts about vegetarianism and society's reaction to this dietary choice in a series of comic strips, paired with quotes about eating animals. We are intrigued to read what look like poignant and humorous comics about life as a vegetarian, a perfect read while digesting the mass amount of food we will inevitably be consuming over the next day or two. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Baked Good Bliss

Date: Thursday, September 3
The Delivery: Gluten-free vanilla cake and shortbread cookie mix from Bob's Red Mill and a variety of whoopie pies from Pattycake Bakery
Staff Pick: The pumpkin spice whoopie pie in honor of autumn approaching

The DL: It's been a very slow week in terms of deliveries, so these whoopie pies really lifted our spirits. Don't let the staff pick fool you—the peppermint and double chocolate look equally enticing!

Just Bag It!

Date: Wednesday, December 10
The Delivery: Loads of seasonal chocolate, good-for-you dark-chocolate bars, reusable bags, and some hemp products
Staff Pick: There's no more having to worry about paper or plastic with ChicoBag's pocket-size reusable bags

The DL: It feels wonderful to say, "No bag please," in the store check-out line, but it can definitely be a hassle to lug all your recyclable bags around. This is where the Vita bag comes to the rescue. It's plenty big and can hold up to 40 pounds, but can also fold up into a tiny ball that fits right into your pocket. Now that's what we call thrifty!

Staff Pick: It looks like the VNHQ is set on pancake mix until next year, including the VegNews tasted-and-approved Cherrybrook Kitchen Pancake Mix

The DL:
Ever since Editorial Assistant Abby's first brunch, the VN staff has wanted more, and boy are we in luck. Pancake connoisseurs we shall be once we get through all of these.
