The DL: Sometimes, you just don’t have time to cook, which is why frozen meals like this can be a lifesaver. One of those times, for the VegNews staff, will likely be the night of the VegNews Book Bash with Spork Foods. Starting at 6pm on October 21, we’ll be celebrating the release of Spork-Fed, by Heather Goldberg and Jenny Engel, at our first-ever party at the new VNHQ. And guess what? You can join us. Tickets will include Champagne, a cinnamon bun bar from Cinnaholic, a copy of the book, and a trivia game. Hope to see you there!

The DL: We know of  the existence of awesome one-for-one programs for shoes and glasses, and Sir Richard's participates too—for every condom the company sells, they give one to community organizations in developing countries. In addition, Sir Richard's is hitting colleges on the West Coast this fall to talk safe sex. Now that's some social responsibility! Sticky Fingers Cupcakes

The DL: Earlier this week, Sticky Fingers Bakery competed on an all-star episode of Cupcake Wars. While this time around they did not take home first place, Sticky Fingers will always, always be winners in our hearts. We are dying to try these cupcakes, some of which are flavors from Sticky Fingers' first appearance (ginger cake with blueberry frosting, anyone?), and others from this week's episode. Whiskey cake with vermouth frosting? Don't mind if we do. Have a great weekend everybody!
