The DL: These vegan chocolates from No Whey! were a big hit at the office this afternoon—especially after our vegan weddings meeting, during which we had the tough task of picking eight couples to profile in our July+August issue. All that talk of wedding cake was drool-inducing, so we’re lucky we had the No Whey! chocolate sampler to help curb our cravings. The Goods: A copy editor who can make sweets so good the entire container is gone by lunch? Now that's our kind of gal. Anne's treats are buzzed about all year long, so it's no surprise that these were inhaled along with our morning coffee and tea. You'd think after cookie taste tests on Friday and the VN Holiday party on Saturday (think a five-course meal at a gorgeous San Francisco vegetarian Thai restaurant) we'd be off the sweets, but we're in it for the long haul—or at least through New Year's Eve. The DL: We love limited edition chocolate bars. And regular edition chocolate bars. Really, we don't discriminate when it comes to chocolate. We hope that biting into this bar, made with cacao beans from Vietnam, will magically transport us to the nation's sandy beaches. The DL: Just stop right there. Did you see those chocolates? We had to pinch ourselves quite a few times to make sure we weren't dreaming when we opened this box and inside found vegan chocolates that looked so amazingly scrumptious. Plus, you know that it has to be something special to beat out frozen vegan pizza. We're going to cut this post short so that we can spend more time taste-testing.
