Vegan Skincare

The Delivery: Hydrating body wash and lotion from 100% Pure
Staff Pick: The body wash

The DL: It is 80+ degrees here at the VNHQ, leaving most of the staff thinking about air conditioning and popsicles. This body wash, which smells just like a slice of key lime pie on a summer day, makes us want to stop everything, go home, and hang out by the pool (that none of us actually have). Perhaps a slice of chilled key lime pie will magically appear post-pool party? A magazine staff can dream. We're also dreaming about tomorrow night's Twitter Chat with Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero, where we'll talk pie (key lime included!) as we explore the duo's new book, Vegan Pie in the Sky. Join us tomorrow at 6pm PT!

Vegan Pie in the Sky!

The Date: Wednesday, August 31
The Delivery: Five to Thrive by Lise N. Alschuler and Karolyn A. Gazella and a galley of Vegan Pie in the Sky by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romeo
Staff Pick: Vegan Pie in the Sky

The DL: It's finally here! We'll save you the chatter and just share three recipes: Sweet Potato Brazil Nut Crunch Pie, Brownie Bottom Peanut Butter Cheesecake, and Boston Cream Cake Pie. (Psst! The recipe for the Boston Cream Cake Pie is in our September+October issue.) Yeah, we're drooling all over our keyboards too. Are Isa and Terry's cookbooks your veritable vegan cooking bibles? Then vote for the duo as your favorite cookbook authors in The 2011 Veggie Awards, and enter to win a weeklong cruise to boot! Polls close tonight at 11:59pm PT, so vote now!

VegNews September+October Issue!

The Date: Friday, August 19
The Delivery: The September+October issue of VegNews Magazine!!
Staff Pick: The mag! Times a million!

The DL: We know you're probably wondering, "Why is today's This Just In posted so early?" Well, dear readers, we just couldn't help but share this beautiful magazine with you as soon as possible. What can we say? That pumpkin carrot cake with cream cheese frosting is just too good to keep to ourselves. Earlier this week, we had you guess the cover in our Cover Crystal Ball, and many of you chose correctly! Now, enjoy pumpkin-inspired recipes, the most mouth-watering vegan s'mores you've ever seen, and pages beyond pages of the nation's top vegan food trucks (see below for a sneak peek)! Oh, and there's a recipe for Isa and Terry's Boston Cream Cake Pie from their new cookbook, Vegan Pie in the Sky. Just sayin'. Congratulations to vegan blogger extraordinaire, Kathy Patalsky, for having her gorgeous photo of Pumpkin Spice Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting (recipe in the mag!) grace our cover. Kudos, Kathy!

Appetite For Reduction

The Date: Tuesday, October 12
The Delivery: Advance copy of the upcoming weight-loss cookbook by Isa Chandra Moskowitz

The DL: Very few weight-loss cookbooks could manage to excite us as much as this one, but vegan cookbook author Isa Chandra Moskowitz has earned our trust as an expert recipe developer. It was she, after all, who brought us Vegan Brunch, Vegan With A Vengeance, and, along with her partner in crime and VegNews columnist Terry Hope Romero, Veganomicon. And low-fat vegan recipes will provide a contrast to Isa and Terry's other not-so-low-fat gifts to vegans in the form of Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, and Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar. It's all about balance, people.

Media Alert!

The Date: Wednesday, June 2
The Delivery: A ton of books and Joanne Rose's Vegan 101 DVDs
Staff Pick: Meat is for Pussies by John Joseph

The DL: This book may just be the Skinny Bitch for men. Joseph, a punk-rocker, doesn't seem to be holding anything in, shown by the title alone. Looks like a fun read!
