The Goods: A copy editor who can make sweets so good the entire container is gone by lunch? Now that's our kind of gal. Anne's treats are buzzed about all year long, so it's no surprise that these were inhaled along with our morning coffee and tea. You'd think after cookie taste tests on Friday and the VN Holiday party on Saturday (think a five-course meal at a gorgeous San Francisco vegetarian Thai restaurant) we'd be off the sweets, but we're in it for the long haul—or at least through New Year's Eve. We thought that was the Loch Ness Monster of the drink world. If our weakness for sweets wasn't evident by our obsessions with candy bars, Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Bomb cake, and spiced banana pancakes, we're really in for it now. Obsessive Confection's line of creative sweets has us stoked, especially the Vegan Booty: a concoction of coconut toffee, dark chocolate, and orange peel. We better get all of our work done now, because after these incoming sugar highs pass, we're going to be useless. Looks like we're closing early, folks!

The DL: Oh my gosh, seriously. Between today's delicious pizza lunch, a huge shipment of Sjaak's vegan candy bars to the VegNews Store (Want to score a few? Enter This Week's Giveaway!), and majorly sweet leftovers from Friday's haul, we are in need for a little bit of a cleanse. Enter: grapefruit sage botanical water. Just saying those four words whisks us away to a beach-front spa where we can lounge around in cushy bathrobes and doze during lavender facials. Not bad for a bottle of liquid. Frankie is the VNHQ fairy godmother, and these perfectly ripe fresh dates filled with tangy cashew cheese covered in decadent dark chocolate might be a contender for best This Just In score of the year.
