Staff Pick: The S'mores cupcake!

The DL: The only thing better than a delivery from Sweet & Sara is a delivery from Sweet & Sara followed by cupcakes! These delightful gems were hand-delivered by Karolynh herself, and will be promptly devoured post-blog post. Want some holiday treats for yourself? Homemade Vegan Eats

The Date: Tuesday, June 14
The Delivery: Homemade barbecue seitan vegan ribs, barbecue sauce, and peach jam from VN volunteer and family member Frankie
Staff Pick: The Saturn Peach Jam

The DL: VN volunteer extraordinaire Frankie recently visited VNHQ, leaving us with some seriously delicious goods. (Let us just say, this lady can make magic happen in the kitchen. Seriously.) We can't wait to bust open this jar of freshly made peach jam and slather it over everything: bagels, waffles, sugar cookies, our bodies, you name it. Okay, maybe not that last one. Speaking of delicious things to slather over bagels, waffles, and the like, This Week's Must Have (the Expo West 2011 Best of Show-winning coconut spread from Earth Balance) is pretty much the best thing for sliced bread since sliced bread.

Vegan Cooking Sauces

The Date: Tuesday, May 10
The Delivery: Ready-made Indian cooking sauces from Stonehouse 27
Staff Pick: The cilantro and coconut cooking sauce

The DL: We here at VegNews are pretty loco for coconuts these days. From our new Food Feature extolling coconut's many culinary and bodily benefits to This Week's Must Have (chocolate coconut milk, anyone?), this fuzzy brown gem is constantly in our thoughts. Enter: Stonehouse 27's new cilantro and coconut cooking sauce with hints of lemon and ginger. We can't wait to see what this sauce can do to a plate of veggies, and are happy that we get to keep this coconut kick going. Now, if only we had some of that Coconut Bliss ice cream left....

Raw Chocolate Sauce and Snacks

The Date: Monday, April 18
The Delivery: Raw, organic chocolate spreads from Love Street Living Foods and raw crackers, brownies, and kremes from Twin Cakes Bakery
Staff Pick: The Cardamom Brownie Bites

The DL: From batter to baked, double-chocolate to vegan marshmallow-filled, we really haven't ever met a brownie we didn't like. We are excited to taste test these raw gluten-free gems, and can't wait to see what cardamom does to a brownie. Will it be our new obsession? If there's chocolate involved, it's almost a given. As you can see from our This Week's Must Have (vegan Easter eggs, anyone?), we are pretty sweet on it.

Books and Men's Body Care

The Date: Thursday, March 31
The Delivery: Green is the New Red by Will Potter, Organic Manifesto by Maria Rodale, Vegan Family Meals by Ann Gentry, and men's hair gel, shower gel, and body spray by LUSH Cosmetics
Staff Pick: Vegan Family Meals

The DL: Ann Gentry's new cookbook, filled with vibrant photos of soups, lasagnas, and cookies, is making our mouths water. We wouldn't mind cooking up tofu scrambles with avocado, bacon, and cheese, dark onion soup with cashew cream and herbed croutons, or double-chocolate brownies, but since we don't have an oven or stove here at the VNHQ, we might need some help. Let us know if you want to make it for us. We'll bring the cookbook and This Week's Must Have (Dark chocolate with quinoa crisps: it's the perfect palate cleanser!).

Deodorant and Chocolate

The Date: Wednesday, February 16
The Delivery: Assorted bittersweet chocolate bars from Poco Dolce and deodorant sticks from Organic Grooming by Herban Cowboy
Staff Pick: The hazelnut bittersweet chocolate bar

The DL: Some things in life are no-brainers. Eat your veggies. Look both ways before crossing the street. Puppies are cute. Some things, however, are not. With six different delectable-sounding flavors, it was the Sophie's Choice of chocolate for today's Staff Pick. We decided to go with hazelnut because that's what we ended up pointing at while our eyes were closed. We haven't tried any yet, but as is evident by This Week's Must Have (chocolate) and an entire featurette on (you guessed it) chocolate, we'll probably be perfectly happy with all of them.

Vegan Meats, Books, and Raw Chocolate

The Date: Tuesday, January 8
The Delivery: Vegan burgers, chunky strips, and chicken-style nuggets from Fry's Vegetarian; The Chicken Chronicles by Alice Walker; Edible Secrets by Michael Hoerger and Mia Partlow; and raw chocolate maca sauce and raw chocolate in assorted flavors from Chocolatl
Staff Pick: The goji-maca chocolates

The DL: With Valentine's Day just around the corner, everyone and their vegan mother is trying to get their hands on a box of chocolates. These organic, vegan, low-glycemic bites are the real deal, and their Mayan temple-inspired packaging is an exotic exit from the usual red lips- and heart-shaped containers. We haven't tried them yet, but it's safe to say we probably wouldn't mind sharing a box of these with our partners come February 14. Actually, scratch thatwe're going to keep them for ourselves. Maybe we'll even dribble some caramel agave (This Week's Must Have) on top for good measure.

Seeds, Protein, and Energy...Plus a Book!

The Date: Wednesday, January 26
The Delivery: Sprouted Sunflower and Pumpkin Seeds in assorted flavors from Kaia Foods; Protein Shake Mixes, Antioxidant Boosters, and Pomegranate Energy Fizz Tabs from Arbonne; and Vegans Know How to Party by Nancy Berkoff
Staff Pick: The Cocoa Molé sunflower seeds

The DL: We love vegan treats, especially organic, chocolate molé-flavored ones. These tasty-looking sunflower seeds come in a small, reusable bag that's a perfect size for snacking on the go. We're excited to taste test, both while at the office and during our commutes. If you're looking for a more decadent chocolate treat, make sure to check out This Week's Must Have: Justin's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups.
