Alternative Tootpaste
The Date: Monday, August 29
The Delivery: Toothy Tabs (and some eco-friendly toothbrushes!) from Lush Cosmetics
Staff Pick: The Toothy Tabs!
The DL: We here at the VNHQ love getting deliveries of chocolate, cookbooks, and chips, but perhaps even more than those three Cs, we love a new vegan product unlike anything we've ever C-een (get it?). Enter: Toothy Tabs. The folks at Lush are aiming to reduce the ecological impact of toothpaste tubes and dispensers with these tabs. Pop in your mouth, brush as normal, and keep some of the one billion toothpaste tubes that end up in landfills annually out. We are so intrigued we might whip some out some of these Toothy Tabs right now. After all, we did just have lunch.

Cookbook and Vegan Skincare
The Date: Tuesday, June 28
The Delivery: Vegetarian Entrees That Won't Leave You Hungry by Lukas Volger and DMAE Creme from derma e
Staff Pick: The face cream
The DL: Organic. Natural. Vegan. We like those three words to describe our beauty routine just as much as our dietary routine. Derma e, committed to all three, sent us their award-winning anti-aging face cream to try, and we are ready to test with gusto. We're also stoked about this Thursday's Twitter Chat with Farm Sanctuary Co-founder Gene Baur. Join us at 6pm PT by following #VegNewsChat.

New Year, New You

The Delivery: Appetite for Reduction by Isa Chandra Moskowitz
Staff Pick: The only item!
The DL: Happy 2011, everyone! We're thrilled to be back at work here at the VNHQ, and hope that you all had wonderful holidays. While we weren't overwhelmed with the volume of today's goods, it's hard to argue with the quality. Yes, we've received this book before, and yes, we're grateful to see it again. Maybe some of us are thinking about reducing ourselves a bit after teh holiday indulgences. Maybe this book comes at the perfect time. Just saying! Here's to the new year, and more new products to come!

Needless to say, we're all very happy that Robin Robertson's latest cookbook is party-themed, including fête favorites such as Seitan Enchiladas, Spinach-Potato Quesadillas, and Pecan-Pumpkin Pie. Love Robin as much as we do? Check out her recipes for DIY Sushi and Eggplant Kabayaki in our brand-new November+December 2o10 Veggie Awards issue. And then throw a party. Pasta and a Cookbook
The Date: Wednesday, October 13
The Delivery: Whole-grain pasta from Jovial, and a new cookbook.
Staff Pick: Asian Fusion by Chat Mingkwan
The DL: Today's deliveries bring much in the way of supper inspiration, with a cookbook filled with recipes from all over Asia, and a ton of pasta! Asian Fusion contains recipes inspired by places such as Burma, China, Japan, Indonesia, Korea, and more, making it a nice addition to the great new vegan cookbooks being released of late (see yesterday's excitement over Appetite for Reduction for an idea about just how stoked we are for new cookbooks!). Oh, and it just so happens that Asian Fusion contains recipes inspired by countries VegNews is visiting in current and upcoming VegNews Vacations. Publishers Colleen Holland and Joseph Connelly are currently in India for the very first VegNews Vacation, the 2011 trips to India and Thailand are sold out, and there are still a few remaining spots if you'd care to join us in Laos. For now, we'll be following Joseph and Colleen's adventures as they post pictures on our Facebook page.

Appetite For Reduction

The Date: Tuesday, October 12
The Delivery: Advance copy of the upcoming weight-loss cookbook by Isa Chandra Moskowitz
The DL: Very few weight-loss cookbooks could manage to excite us as much as this one, but vegan cookbook author Isa Chandra Moskowitz has earned our trust as an expert recipe developer. It was she, after all, who brought us Vegan Brunch, Vegan With A Vengeance, and, along with her partner in crime and VegNews columnist Terry Hope Romero, Veganomicon. And low-fat vegan recipes will provide a contrast to Isa and Terry's other not-so-low-fat gifts to vegans in the form of Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, and Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar. It's all about balance, people.

Staff Pick: Fresh and Fast Vegan by Amanda Grant
