The November+December Issue!

The Delivery: Non-vegan cookbooks Vegetarian Food for Kids by Laura Washburn and Easy Vegetarian One-Pot by Ryland, Peters, & Small, Cico Books' fall catalog, and the November+December 2011 issue of VegNews Magazine
Staff Pick: The November+December issue!!

The DL: We think the cover really says it all: This issue contains 114 beautifully designed pages jam-packed with the best 2011 has to offer! We stopped everything (and we mean everything) when the mailman brought this issue in. We couldn't wait to see The 2011 Veggie Awards, our food feature filled with seven candy recipes perfect for holiday bashes, two-cheese lasagna, and so, so much more. The issue shipped to subscribers earlier this week, and advance copies are available for purchase in the VegNews Store. Get one today! You won't regret it.

The DL: Getting to try new vegan products before they hit the shelves—like this soy nog!—is most definitely one of the perks of working at VegNews. It's also pretty fitting that a festive, holiday-appropriate delivery came today. Why, do you ask? Well, just a little thing called sending our November+December issue to press! Tenth annual Veggie Awards, here we come. Savory waffles! Holiday gift guide! And oh, did we mention The Veggie Awards?

Zilch. Zippo. Nada.

The Date: Friday, September 16
The Delivery: Zero things
Staff Pick: Our coworkers!

The DL: So, we're going a little minimalist today it seems. Sometimes you're blessed with cheesesteaks and whoopie pies in the same day, and some days (like today) you are left wanting. But that's more than OK we say, because we here at VegNews are currently in the midst of finishing up our gorgeous, glamourous November+December issue! Does it include the 10th annual Veggie Awards? Check. Two-cheese lasagna? Sure does. More peanut butter cups than you can handle? You betcha. Have a great weekend!

Vaute Couture Pop-Up Shop!

The Date: Friday, September 2
The Delivery: The Vaute Couture Pop-Up Shop at VegNews Headquarters
Staff Pick: All of it!

The DL: We are just getting started on the two-day long Vaute Couture Pop-Up Shop here at VNHQ, and we're officially in love. It's a little weird trying on winter coats when it's almost 80 degrees and sunny here in SF, but we are definitely, definitely not complaining. Take a look at Vautue Couture's fall lookbook, and order a coat or two for yourself on Vaute's site. While you have that credit card out, make sure you're the first to get our November+December issue (Veggie Awards, people!) by ordering a subscription today! The deadline is Monday, September 5. Have a fantastic Labor Day weekend! We will see you on Tuesday.

The VNHQ reception area, complete with
Vaute Couture Founder Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart's cover!

The recipe for the Boston Cream Cake Pie is in our September+October issue.) Yeah, we're drooling all over our keyboards too. Are Isa and Terry's cookbooks your veritable vegan cooking bibles? Raw Chocolate, Gum, and Energy Bars

The Date: Monday, August 22
The Delivery: Raw, organic chocolate bars from Fearless Chocolate Co., aspartame-free gum from Pur Gum, and vegetarian energy, protein and breakfast nutrition bars from Rise Bar
Staff Pick: The Hibiscus Ginger bar

The DL: We love supporting local businesses and consuming chocolate, so we're getting the best of both worlds with these chocolate bars! We first met Oakland, Calif.-based Fearless Chocolate at Expo West, and enjoyed seeing them again during their recent visit to the VNHQ. Will we enjoy the chocolate even more? Only time (and a taste test) will tell. Your time is almost up to vote in The 2011 Veggie Awards. Polls close August 31, so cast your votes today for a chance to win seriously awesome prizes!

Parma!

The Date: Tuesday, August 2
The Delivery: A ginormous bag of Parma! from Eat in the Raw
Staff Pick: Parma!

The DL: We think it's pretty obvious from the size of this bag that the VN staff doesn't do well when we are out of this delicious condiment. In fact, we threw in the pen just to show you how big the bag actually is. Perspective is everything. While we're on the topic of big things, want to take part in the world's largest survey of vegan people, places, and products? Such a silly question. Of course you do! Vote in The 2011 Veggie Awards, open now through August 31.

A Vegan Cookbook and Nail Polish

The Date: Monday, August 1
The Delivery: Quick-Fix Vegan by Robin Robertson and vegan water-based nail polish kits from Acquarella Water Color
Staff Pick: Quick-Fix Vegan

The DL: We know the galley of Quick-Fix Vegan was a staff pick a short while ago, but we can't help it—we're just too excited! Robin Robertson is nothing short of a vegan cooking genius. Our mouths are definitely watering over this new book, in addition to Robin's newest Global Vegan food column in our upcoming September+October issue. Indian-Chinese fusion, yes please! While you're waiting for the new issue to arrive, vote for your favorite vegan restaurant, cheese, chocolate, city, store, cookbook author, blog, website, and more in The 2011 Veggie Awards!
