Reads & Treats

The Date: Tuesday, April 6
The Delivery: Two books, some Shaman Chocolate, and Naturity bath products
Staff Pick: The Face On Your Plate by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson, now out in paperback

The DL: We held a special Speaker Series event for Masson in March of 2009, when this book first came out. Now it's a little more affordable being in paperback, so grab a copy for a friend—or two.

Speaking of affordable, check out our new Savvy Abby blog for great money-saving tips!

A Dream Come True

Date: Tuesday, November 3
The Delivery: A couple Shaman Chocolate bars, several tubs of We Can't Say It's Cheese, and some crazy-good cookie dough
Staff Pick: The peanut-butter-chocolate-chip cookie dough from EatPastry

The DL: Yes, that is a jar of vegan cookie dough that you see, and yes, we have already started to devour it. This genius product can be baked into cookies, but we say hold the heat and bring on the spoons. Delish!

Elizabeth II

Date: Thursday, October 22
The Delivery: Some sugar and gluten-free baking mixes, goodies from Navitas Naturals, chocolates, and three-bean chili from Kettle Cuisine
Staff Pick: The Perfect Pancake Mix from purely elizabeth.

The DL: No, this is not Managing Editor Elizabeth Castoria's company on the side, but these cutely packaged baking mixes look quite good. We're excited to see if the pancakes are as perfect as they say.
