Chips, Care Packages, and Cookbooks

The Date: Wednesday, March 16
The Delivery: Sea salt Chip'ins from Popcorn, Indiana, an eco-friendly care package from Eco Emi, and a copy of Vegan Diner by Julie Hasson
Staff Pick: The care package

The DL: Who doesn't like the idea of getting a special surprise in the mail every month? This bundle was full of the latest in eco-friendly and sustainable beauty, home, and more. A mini candle, tea, and face lotion? We wouldn't mind getting one of these care packages on the regular! Speaking of care, our hearts go out to the people and animals of Japan after Friday's devastating earthquake and tsunami. If you are looking to help out companion animals and others in Japan, check out our list of organizations requesting donations. Every little bit helps those in need, both two-legged and four.

We here at VNHQ are honored to receive an Eddie Award for VegNews.com three years running (oww!), and plan to celebrate our success in a bath of Champagne. Just kidding. But we will take turns carrying it around the office while playing "We are the Champions" full-blast. No pictures, please.

Flip Flops, a Wallet, and Cookbooks

The Date: Friday, January 28
The Delivery: Flip flops from Okabashi, a wallet from The Vegan Collection, Vegan Bake Sale by Carla Kelly, and Vegan Diner by Julie Hasson
Staff Pick: Vegan Diner

The DL: Happy Friday from the VNHQ! On this chilly day the office has been craving some seriously warm comfort foodjust the kind of stuff littering the pages of Julie Hasson's new cookbook. (Psst! You might find Julie in our upcoming March+April 2011 issue.) Not only do the french fries (and burger, and potato salad...) on the cover look great, but we love a good non-dairy milkshake as much as the next person. Speaking of milkshakes: want to know which non-dairy milk works best as a base for your next chocolate-Oreo shake? Check out our handy guide to non-dairy milks.
